How well will I be able to talk after my wisdom teeth get pulled?

I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled and it is around the same time that my drama club will be putting on a play. Will i still be able to perform?

How well will I be able to talk after my wisdom teeth get pulled?
I've had mine pulled and I don't remember not being able to talk.

However, the first day I had gauze in my mouth to stop the bleeding (so I really couldn't talk) and my face was really swollen for a few days afterwards.
Reply:It depends on how long after the surgery you have the performance. You should be able to talk later that evening or the following day. However, complications can arise. I had dry sockets, which are often caused by smoking and drinking through straws. You can also get them by swallowing hard, which was the cause of mine. The pain from that caused me to want to quit living. (If you end up with dry sockets, you should be able to get a dressing from your dentist right away and you will have relief.) I would suggest giving yourself a few days to recover though. Best wishes! - s
Reply:Pack your jaws for 8 hours with ice. Keep it cold! You should be fine the next day. Just make sure you follow your oral surgeon's instructions about cleaning teeth and what to eat.
Reply:Everyone reacts differently. I couldn't even get out of bed for about two days and my face was swollen and black and blue. I looked like I had been hit by a truck. My husband was the same way - in bed for a week. BUT, I have known people who went out partying the same night, never had to take pain medication, felt just fine. So... I have no idea.
