Im getting braces next month(april) and i have to get 4 teeth pulled. will it hurt?

im soo scared about getting teeth pulled.!!


also one more thing..


while having braces, when your mouth is closed does your mouth seem bulky. like im my mouth was closed would someone beable to tell i have braces?

I got 4 teeth pulled too. The shot of novocaine feels like a pinch but when they pull the actual tooth out it doesnt hurt. I got 2 pulled in one visit so i only went back twice. I refused to take any medication afterward and it was extremely painful esp the 2nd time dont know why. The pain starts when the novocaine starts to wear off usually 20 mins after you get your teeth pulled. They will give you a prescription for vicodin in case the pain becomes too much or i think thats only if your older...not sure, im 21 was 20 at the time. Use orajel to numb the pain and some tylenol/advil/motrin whatever you like, itll make it better, plus your mouth feels better after an hour or two, you'll be able to eat properly and the blood will stop gushing out so you can spit out the gauze in your mouth. I had 2 slices of pizza 2 hours after coming home from the dentist and i took no medication and had 2 teeth removed at once so its not that bad. Dont worry if you still see blood resting inside the gap where your tooth used to be, it takes a few days for that to clear up and for the pink gums to start showing.





well your mouth will kind of do a pout on its own, i still have problems sort of closing my mouth b/c of my braces but that may be b/c i have an overbite which is what im getting fixed and the braces on top of it just make it worse for me. If you dont have an overbite i dont think anyone will be able to tell you have braces when your mouth is closed. In the beginning you'll have some problems with closing your mouth b/c you wont be used to the braces but it takes a few days to get used to and youll be fine!





Braces are not as bad as i thought they would be, sure theres some pain involved but its nothing that you cant handle plus its all worth it b/c when you're done you'll have the most amazing smile ever!! The tight wires make your teeth sore for about a week then its all fine after that. Any pain you feel can always be taken care of with some basic pain killers like tylenol or advil.

getting your teeth pulled wont be bad at all. your dentist will numb your mouth and pull whatever teeth need to be pulled, and you'll be numb for a couple hours afterwards, and thats that. your dentist will probably tell you to go grab a milkshake or some ice cream or something cold afterwards to help the numb.





also getting your braces is pretty okay. to answer your question, your mouth will not look bulky when closed. getting your braces tightened will ache a bit, but its all very do-able. trust me, you'll be so happy with the results. braces will give you the perfect smile! go through with it now, and you'll be happy you did after.
Reply:I have braces and I was thinking the same as you. The dentist pulled out four of my teeth. It doesn't hurt because they numb it. You do feel pressure though while they are pulling it out.





Your mouth will look the same but it will feel bulky at first. Then you get used to it.

Reply:First off if you do not have pain killer injected in your gums before your wisdom teeth are pulled, then sure it is going to hurt!!! As the dentist want's you to come back so they can earn some more $ they will use novacaine. So you will not feel much, just some "pressure" like when someone presses against you. As you are female and not a weak little male, you will tolerate the pain better than a boy. Males/men = boys when it comes to being sick or with pain (women who have had husbands sick know what I mean). You will be given motrin or tydenol to nulify the pain once the novacaine wears off. You will not be able to chew too good so you will drink your meals till the soreness goes away. The braces today are not bulky. So unless you smile, no one knows. If you have big $ to spend then you can get invisaligns which is a clear tooth tray that fits over your teeth and unnoticable.
Reply:my friend has braces but i don't know if it hurts.im pretty sure it would.but i think they give you some gel to numb the skin.and theni think they give you some shots.so the pain wont be so bad.it should help dull it away.i don't think having braces is all that bad.My friends ok.the only problem is that she has to brush good so she wont get cavities.the pro is that she gets to change the color every month.so yeah don't worry,its probably gonna hurt but prepare yourself don't think about it and think good thoughts.good luck and hoped this helped you out!
Reply:1.Ok i was ttly like you when i had braces and i got 4 teeth pulled. I was in the dentist chair and he numbed me. Then he had the tooth pulling thing like in my mouth and i said " how much longer " ? and he said im done i already took out all four! i was in shock! i didnt even feel it!





2. At first for the first 2 or 3 weeks, your mouth feels bulky like your lips are sticking out, they arnt. and after a while u dont even feel them.....sometimes i even forget i have them on.





3.And only the first 3 or 4 days of braces is kinda bad. Its just that your teeth are getting used to the braces and the wires and feeling that pulling on your teeth trying to make them straight. And make sure that you eat a good filling meal, and cake on chapstick before you get them on. Your teeth will be sore for a little bit, and they have to pull your lips apart to put on the brackets thats why you wear chapstick.
