Im getting my 2 bottom wisdom teeth pulled?

yea so im getting my bottom wisdom teeth pulled. they havent come out yet. im trying to avoid having being put to sleep, so im especially wondering what it was like for people who didnt get put to sleep. I heard that removing the top wisdom teeths are easy, but why is the bottom so much more difficult? also, anything else i should know?

I HIGHLY recommend that you ask to be put to sleep. I didn't go under when I got my bottom wisdom teeth (also impacted) taken out and it hurt like crazy! I could feel and smell the drilling of my teeth and I felt the dentist tugging them out. And I could also see all the blood flying out of my mouth and onto his shirt and goggles. It was a horrible experience and I wish that I had asked to be unconscious.

Be sure to ask for Vicodin or other painkillers for the pain that you will feel after the surgery. Also be prepared for the swelling; I looked like a chipmunk for a week afterwards. I also couldn't eat solid foods for a few days. Good luck!
Reply:It was painful when the teeth were pulled out. It was more like a muted pain (because they numbed the area) but I felt the pressure and the tugging. Did you get yours out yet? Report It

Reply:Get put to sleep. It hurts a lot if your not.
Reply:I wasn't put to sleep when I had mine removed, just had local anesthetic on my mouth. If the teeth are impacted, that is, at a slant , it can be more painful/difficult to have them removed. The local anesthetic should take care of the pain in having them removed although you will still feel the pressure of the extraction and it certainly isn't pleasant (unless you like that kind of thing). It is more painful after the removal, but if you follow the after care instructions, you should be fine.
Reply:Well i have have 6 teeth pulled 4 my braces nd i have been put to sleep it really sux..... And relax and dont worry...... But if u totally hate needles dont look at it turn the other way and bite your lip and think of some thing else
Reply:yeah. get put to sleep like a sheep.
Reply:get nitrous oxide it'll make you feel a little bit of drunk. but they'll more than likely have to cut your wisdom teeth out. just get something to dull the pain afterwards.
Reply:Since they are impacted you should think about being put to sleep. I was awake for my 4 impactions and you can feel everything, hear whats going on, the smell from the drilling, and having the dentist to say open your mouth more when all you want to do is close it. I wish I could have had that option when I had it done.
