How do I know if I will need to get teeth pulled?

Im getting braces because I gave a gap in my two front teeth and between some of my other teeth I havent gone to the ortho yet and I will go for the 1st time in the 20th how do i know if i am going to need teeth pulled?

How do I know if I will need to get teeth pulled?
If you have gaps between your teeth it is unlikely that they will have to pull any. They usually only pull teeth out to make room to straighten crooked one that are crooked because there isn't enough space in the mouth. Your dentist will let you know if you have to have any pulled but I doubt if you do.
Reply:Before I got my braces put on I got a few teeth pulled because they were baby teeth. You probably won't need to get teeth pulled because you have lost all yours. If you have many gaps, then you definately won't need to get any teeth pulled. (which is good because you won't have to endure any pain!) The braces will help pull your teeth together to get rid of the gaps. [ I had a few gaps before my braces. ] Well only your orthodontist will determine if you need to get your teeth pulled, but I hope this helps. Good luck!!!
Reply:Unless you have an extreme case where there are much bigger problems than just gaps, you will not need to have teeth pulled to get braces.

Generally, teeth are pulled with they go bad - break, split get infected and so forth.
Reply:Since you have spacing, you probably don't have crowding.

Teeth are usually pulled if there is not enough space or if there is an underlying jaw problem and they want to fix it with extractions and braces.
