After only 4 days, yes it still can hurt. After a week, call your dentist.

Try taking one regular advil and one regular tylenol. That is advice I got from nurses for pain when I was discharged from surgery. Do not eat anything hot or cold ... warm at the very most. Do not chew. When you rest, keep your head propped up. You may need to take your pain medication every 3 hours, rather than every 4 hours. That is ok because it will only be for a short while. Good luck. I hate mouth pain!!!
Reply:While I don't know how long the pain should normally last, It sounds very normal for there to be pain, even at four days after. It likely will hurt until the end of the week. After that I don't know.
Reply:Yes it's normal your roots went deep and it will take at least 10 days to grow a skin over the area.If it starts to swell or taste sour you may have an infection.Usually when you have a tooth pulled the dentist gives you antibiotics to take for several days after.Make sure you take all the antibiotics and you should be fine.
