How much does it suck to get wisdom teeth pulled while awake?

I'm gonna be awake when my teeth get pulled because my insurance won't cover the surgery. So I'm scared to hear the tooth come out and stuff. I will have laughing gas too. How bad is it?

I had mine taken out one at a time by an oral surgeon because they were very impacted. They gave me something to drink before the surgery and I was so buzzed. Coming out of it at home was a different story. Do what you have to do, and be done with it. The headphones is an excellent idea.
Reply:My daughter's friend had it done that way. She did not experience much pain during the procedure, but she was disturbed by the sounds going on inside her head. (Like many wisdom teeth, hers was broken for extraction.) If your oral surgeon or dentist permits it, ask if you can play music on headphones during the procedure--and pick something loud.





FWIW, she said the laughing gas was kind of fun. Hence the name, huh?
Reply:OH im scared!! In a few months I have to get them pulled too! I wont have laughing gas I'll only have pain killer cause I like you dont have insurance that covers that!!!
Reply:since you will be given the gas to put you under some sedation the pain of it at the time will not be that bad.


if you only were to have frezzing and have this done you would remember it for the rest of your life
