Describe the pain of pulling a tooth down?

Okay, i'm having an adult tooth expose and a chain attached to pull it down.

What level of pain would you say it is?

Does it hurt like having your bands tightened, or is it wayyy worse?

I'm just interested in what to expect. although, i dont care because i'm sick of having a gap.

Just some kind of warning would be nice!?

Describe the pain of pulling a tooth down?
i actually think i had the same thing as you done before. my front tooth never came down so i had to get surgery and then a coily thing attached to my braces to get it to gradually move down and stay down. i remember when i first got it on, it didn't hurt and then later that day i could not stop crying because of the pain. it's kind of like constant painful pressure that you can't stop. after the first couple days though, it pretty much never hurt anymore only on occasion maybe once every couple months. anyways, i wouldn't doubt for a second whether the little bit of pain was worth it or not because now i have perfect teeth! just keep in mind until you get used to it you can't really eat hard solid foods like apples or crackers or anything, stick with pudding and ice cream. :)
Reply:Let the tooth come in on its own. You can beg, plead, and con your way into thinking that you can "pull a tooth down" but you'll just end up destroying your tooth and bleeding alot with alot of pain.
Reply:Anything to do with teeth is painful, sometimes even when you've had anaesthetic injections! I've never had a tooth pulled down, but I know that a root filling hurt like heck, even with injections, but when I had a tooth pulled out it didn't hurt. But my goodness the 3 jabs did! Sorry, I'm no help at all am I?

Have fun!!!
Reply:It will be uncomfortable. Not too much different than having your bands tightened. Don't listen to the answers that say how bad it is, if you could handle the braces so far, it will be no worse
Reply:I am quite certain that what you are describing will not work out the way you want it to. Yanking on a new adult tooth to the point of "pulling it down" will be a pain that you cannot imagine - if you could even do it.
Reply:My experience, a chain doesn't hurt as much as having bands tighten. I'm 25 and just had braces put on the beginning of this year. I had an upper tooth grow in on the inside of the normal bite. They had the tooth on the correct side of the bite within 3 months.

I know have a chain on all my lowers and the top sides. I think they are a lot less painful. Hopefully it will be the same with you too!

Good luck and hang in there, it will all be worth it! :)
