I had 4 teeth pulled yesterday, and the dentist told me no physical activity for 3 days, isn't that excessive

she told me, that my gums (where my teeth used to be) could start to bleed again because of rising blood pressure. I understand, but 3 whole days of no basketball, running, or weight lifting seems like too long.

Better safe than sorry, my friend.

Sit it out for a few days. The break won't harm you, and may prevent the consequences your doc described to you.

Hang in there,

Reply:you should do what she says hun as you could lose a lot of blood and that isn't good for anyone
Reply:she's the doctor-listen to her.....better to listen now than pay later.
Reply:Not if you want your mouth to heal properly. Now shut up, turn on the TV and take care of yourself. LOL
Reply:would you rather end up with a dry socket?

I usually tell patients one day, but if your teeth were too close to the sinus floor, I'd listen to her...
Reply:It's not excessive.Gotta have some sacrifice.It's only for 3 days.It'll definitely bleed again if you do strenuous activity.So please,do what she says. :p {Patients complain or question the dentist,if this and that happen to them and they tell the dentist did not inform them-in your case,your dentist is really concerned about your welfare.}
Reply:After I had mine pulled, I could barley eat anything- So I had no energy, I tried to go out and hang with my friends at a concert, the next day and passed out in front of everyone- since I had not eaten anything other than yogurt and water.

I'd listen get some sleep and good luck!!
