Child Getting Teeth pulled.?

My 12 year old daughter might have to get a tooth or two pulled. I have never had a tooth pulled and she wants too know if it hurts. she told me to ask on a scale of 1-10 how bad is the pain? 1 being not and all and 10 being very very very bad. Please help, she won't leave me aone about it!!!

well i got my 6 teeth pulled when i was 12. on a scale of 1-10 i'd say it was about a 3. it doesnt hurt. if its sore after have her eat ice cream and if it bleeds after just push the gauzes on it. when they pull them out it just feels like a little prick.

make sure you dont scare her (you may not want to tell her what day the appt. is) but give her the details...mum only told me on hte day there is an injection and i freeked!


well, they put a cream on to numb the pain. then there is an injection, then they pull the tooth,


there are no shooting pains, so it doesnt hurt, but you can fel them rumaging about (!) so it is v uncomfortable.


i hate it, but im just a coward! when i was younger i cried, but i went recently and it was FINE.


only thing is i faint easily and went a touch dizzy,


tell her about it, but tell her there is not much pain-if shes goes in with a positive mind it will be better. however, dont tell he it doesnt hurt at all. she will be sngry you lied!
Reply:Being that I work in the dental field, this is a great question. It's going to depend on what teeth are being removed. If they are baby teeth she should have no problems and the pain shouldn't be anything above a 2. If she is having permanent teeth removed obviously they will get her numb, but afterwards the pain should only be a 4. This too will depend on how high of a pain tolorence she has. If she has a high pain tolorence it won't bother her as much as having a lower pain tolorence. Good luck!
Reply:it honestly doesnt hurt, they put numbing stuff and u cant feel a thing! TRUST ME, i had lots and lots of teeth pulled and i never had any problems
