I am 35 years old and my wisdom teeth are in 100% and they are not crowding my teeth. The problem is that 3 of them have cavities and one of them is chipped. My dentist said that as long as I am problem free to keep them, but now there are problems and they have to go. Which is better.....to repair them and keep them or let them go? My grandmother refused to have hers taken out and later in life she needed one of her wisdom teeth for a bridge. Thoughts?
Should I have my wisdom teeth pulled?
Your dentist knows best. Take 'em out.
Reply:my dentist said its better to remove them I am 40
Reply:its your choice. I would repair them. It's better to have more teeth then less. Good luck!
Reply:I had them all pulled at the same time. Thats the way to go I think. Just get em out and be done with them...then you don't have to worry about them. You can eat just as well without them as you can with them so I see no reason to spend money fixing them.
Reply:have them taken out!
Reply:its time to let go of them my friend. better lose them now than leave it to cause further damage or complications be it a day from now or 20 years down the road. get it over with. good luck!
Reply:Since wisdom teeth are so far back in the mouth, they are very hard to keep clean and floss properly in order to keep the bacteria from accumulating which in turn causes the decay your having. I would suggest since your getting decay, your probably having a hard time reaching them to have them extracted by a oral surgeon. I am a dental hygienist and I see this happen often...Hope this helps..
