Orthodontist told me i needed 4 teeth pulled but never did it, could he have meant my 4 wisdom teeth?

my teeth all seem to fit in my mouth right now perfectly but i noticed that i dont have wisdom teeth yet, and since he said 4 i am just assuming he meant those. i went through my 2 years of braces and he never mentioned it after the first meeting i had with him when he told me.

Wisdom teeth sometimes don't show up where they are supposed to which causes them to be impacted...they grow into your exiisting teeth when trying to grow out. They don't fit but still try to grow out. If they become impacted, you will definitely feel it and tooth extraction at that point may be more painful than if you just have them removed before that point. Sometimes they never grow out and all is good but the choice is yours. As for me, I didn't want to wonder if and when they would become impacted. I just had them removed.
Reply:Did he say this before or after your braces?

Before I got my braces on, I had to have 6 teeth pulled out (none of them were wisdom teeth either)... oh that sucked. And I just finally got all 4 wisdom teeth removed 2 weeks ago, 10 years after my braces came off.

If you're not sure, best thing you can do is ask your ortho about the 4 teeth that needed to be pulled, just so you know for sure.
Reply:I had 2 teeth pulled (none of them wisdom teeth) prior to getting my braces. The othodontist SHOULD tell you (or the dentist who's going to pull the teeth ou)t which specific teeth he needs to be pulled out.
