I've had 4 teeth pulled! Please help?

Due to my parents neglecting my teeth when I was little, about 2 years ago I had 2 molars removed on my lower jaw on each side. I was considering getting teeth implants but, the dentist said it would cost about $7,500! I'm 20 years and have no family or support. I'm barely saving money for college. The dentist did recommend seeing a Orthodontist and seeing if they can move my wisdom teeth forward to close that big gap. Thats what I'm hoping for. This dentist I've been seeing is making me feel discouraged and hopeless. Does anyone know if orthodontist have helped people like this?

an orthodontist would be able to fix a gap if you had a good tooth to move in its place. if your wisdom teeth are crap is it worth it?

You can't blame your parents forever, you were 18 when you had those teeth out. Usually at age 10 a brain will develop, so brushing your teeth should have been maintained by yourself since about then. Your teeth needing to be pulled out at 18 unless they needed to be pulled out at age 10 this could be the fault of certain other people who may have been responsible for brushing your teeth ( other than your parents)...

If you can't afford it now maybe you should just wait it out. It's never too late to get braces (tom cruise had braces a couple of years back and he ain't no spring chicken) unless your teeth have rotted to bits... but then again if they're rotting to bits you probably shouldn't get braces in the first place because you probably should focus on more important things such as eating food and drink that doesn't damage your teeth and cleaning them properly.
Reply:Ask for a second opinion.
Reply:Getting the braces will still cost a lot of money. You can decide to get the teeth replaced "at some time in the future" and your treatment options will probably be the same as they are today. The problem is, sometimes the upper molars will grow down below the rest of your upper teeth and then your "occlusal plane" will look like a roller coaster. This is not a good situation to restore. At a minimum, I'd ask about getting something like a simple night guard ($300-400) to wear while you sleep (or more) to act as a retainer to prevent this from happening until you graduate college and have that plush income. For this, you absolutely can NOT get one of those drug store deals, as it must fit your teeth very accurately and it must be made of a hard material. Another option, or something to consider in a few years (unless you have around $1,000 to spend today) would be to get a partial lower denture. This would serve as a "holding pattern" to help you chew while also keeping those upper teeth in place. You could still get implants, say 5 or 10 years down the line. You would just wear the partial until the implants were done.
Reply:were do u stay..I paid cash for my braces i was placed on a payment plan.....i wore them for 1 year..have u considered a partial..it will fit like a retainer but there will be teeth were your missing teeth are located
Reply:Not sure.
