I need teeth pulled, do I go to a dentist or orthodontist?

My mouth is too small for all my teeth and so they've started going crooked (mostly because my wisdom teeth have slowly become more prevalent without ever breaking the surface). I don't have the money to afford braces, but I'd like to stop my teeth from becoming any more crooked. Would I contact a dentist or orthodontist about this?

I need teeth pulled, do I go to a dentist or orthodontist?
As a general dentist myself (DMD), I can assure you that all you need to do is visit your regular dentist. He or she will be able to extract your teeth and should any other procedures be necessary they will refer you to an oral surgeon.
Reply:I got my teeth pulled at the dentist.

Reply:Seek assistance from where ever and get it done right, it will last a life time and you will have no regrets. I know the money thing seems impossible now but search all avenues, govt etc.,you may have to get a loan and work it off over time.Hope you find the solution!
Reply:orthodontist do the whole braces dealio

but dentists do the extraction of teeth, cleaning and cavity filling and stuff like that. You can't afford braces so you don't need an orthodontist. A dentist will pull your teeth out for a pretty penny
Reply:The dentist deals more with getting teeth pulled and the orthodotist usually helps with cosmetics. I would try the dentist first and he may refer you to an orthodontist.
Reply:I would check with your dentist and orthodontist to see which they would prefer.

Call the dentist first becase that's where I would assume they would do it. Call them first, ask if you should go there or to your orthodontist. If they say come here, go to the dentist.

If they say check with the ortodontist, do that.

Good Luck!

Hope I helped you!

Reply:to the dentist. then save up for da orthodontist
Reply:if your planning on getting braces, then you should go to a ortho before getting any teeth removed, if not your regular dentist will assist you. however make sure you get a second opinion before doing anything involving removal.
Reply:Visit your General Dental Practitioner for a consultation, that would be your best choice. She/He will check your teeth out, do all the necessary tests if needed, take x-rays, etc. Make a diagnosis of your case and treat you accordingly, then refer you to and orthodontist if you need it.
