It doesnt really matter if you're asleep as long as they numb you with shots and the shots sting a little but then you can't feel a thing!


it can hurt for like a day if you eat hard food


don't chew gum or anything after you have thne teeth pulled!

Yes they do numb you with novacaine...You can hear them cracking the teeth to pull them out. As for how long it takes, it most likely varies on just how may teeth are being pulled. Of course you can ask them to put you to sleep.


YES it painful afterwards.... you can only "eat" luke-warm soup afterwards. Mainly chicken broth..
Reply:Getting teeth pulled is agony if you can't get numb. However, they do at least pretend to try to numb you, and if you have a really nice dentist, they might actually care if you tell them something hurts. The length of time depends on how many teeth are being pulled; I had two teeth pulled once and it took about an hour. You could be put to sleep, but they'll probably only do that if you're getting wisdom teeth pulled or have majour anxiety and are getting violent or something. It does hurt a lot afterward, but if you go to a dentist who takes pain into consideration, they may give you a painkiller for afterward. I would also suggest taking it easy for the rest of the day at least (you may need longer if you had more than one tooth pulled or if it was complex like wisdom teeth) and avoid lying down; you don't want to start bleeding and have blood gushing down your throat. Another thing that you should know about is you may have stitches where the teeth were; usually these stitches are supposed to fall out or dissolve naturally a few days after, so don't be alarmed if that happens.

Reply:Today I got 2 teeth pulled. Yes they will numb you. I needed many shots before it became numb. The first tooth pulled HURT. The doctor said it was all pressure but I thought I was going to pass out because it hurt. The second tooth didnt hurt at all. I think it's because the doctor didn't wait long enough until my mouth was fully numbed. But then again you get what you get when you decide to go to Algodones Mexico. I hate going to Mexico because of the risks and crossing the border, but it's alot cheaper. This was about 4 hours ago and I am starting to feel my mouth again. I suggest you ask to be put to sleep. Depends how many teeth will be taken out. I dont feel any serious pain but I'm sure that will come later. Braces SUCK.
